SRCF Construction Information

Main content start

Construction on the next module of the Stanford Research Computing Facility (SRCF2) is in full swing! During construction, this page will track changes to building parking locations and access methods. This page is updated regularly, so please check back before each visit to SRCF. Last updated: Tuesday, September 26 @ 12:30 AM

Parking & Access

There is limited parking available in front of the building. We have created a custom Google Map, to show you what areas are available for parking.

Loading & Unloading

The raised loading dock is unavailable for the duration of SRCF2 construction. Prior arrangement must be made for all loading & unloading.

The only area available for loading & unloading is the surface-level loading zone, located between the raised loading dock and the substation yard. If you are using a truck, it will need a liftgate.

The area around the loading zone is very active, so all loading & unloading activities need to be scheduled in advance. Please reach out to Scott Prevost and Darren Travis with the dates and times you would like to load or unload equipment. Please provide multiple options, in case your first choice is unavailable. Depending on construction activities, you might have to select a different time, or even a different day or week.

Shipping

Instead of transporting equipment yourself, the best option is to ship to SRCF. We keep in regular contact with SLAC Shipping & Receiving; they know the best times to deliver to SRCF, and can hold packages during times of heavy construction activity. For large shipments, SLAC Shipping & Receiving has raised loading docks, and will transfer pallets and other large items from the freight carrier to their own equipment for 'last-mile' delivery.

If you are ordering through Oracle Financials or SmartMart: You can ship directly to SRCF by searching for SRCF's building number (40-054). That will automatically fill in the correct shipping address. You should send packages attention Scott Prevost (click on the link and sign in for his phone number). Once you know an order has shipped, you should also email the tracking number to Scott; otherwise, Scott will search for your contact information through the shipping paperwork, which will take time.

If you are shipping through a third-party seller: Use this address: Stanford University, 2575 SAND HILL RD BLDG 054, MENLO PARK, CA 94025-7015. Since there won't be any PO number, you should use your own name and phone number for the shipment. Once you have a tracking number, send it to Scott Prevost by email.
