SRCF Short-term Access — Instructions for Visitors
Main content start
A SLAC-provided QR code (for front gate clearance) and a “temporary” badge are required for short-term access to SRCF. The process for obtaining SLAC clearance must be initiated by your Stanford Research Computing contact person, as explained in the instructions for staff accompanying visitors.
Step 1: Prepare for your visit
- Work out the details of your SRCF visit with the Stanford person or people who will be accompanying you. That person will forward the following information to our authorized SLAC contacts, who will in turn submit an initial request to SLAC on your behalf:
- Full name | Email address | Date of visit | Reason for visit
- IMPORTANT: REAL ID or approved alternative documents are required to enter SLAC.
Step 2: SLAC Form
- When SLAC receives the basic info above, they will email a form to you.
- After you complete and submit the form, SLAC will send you a QR code to be scanned for entry when you arrive at the SLAC front gate.
Step 3: When you arrive
- SLAC Main Gate
2575 Sand Hill Road
Menlo Park, CA 94025
Bring an image of the QR code that SLAC emailed you; security will scan it for entry.
Bring your REAL ID (or compatible document) or foreign visitor required documents. - Proceed to the VUE Center — Building 53, a large building immediately behind the Main Gate — and park your vehicle.
- At the VUE Center you’ll be met by your Stanford contact, who will help you complete SLAC Form B, a short paper form.
- On presenting that form to SLAC Security, along with your ID and any other required documents, you will receive your temporary SLAC badge and be ready to proceed with your Stanford staff guide to the SRCF data center.
